First I want to thank you for your service to our country. I am a disabled former Navy Veteran of Vietnam. Trying to stay fit and fed by raising some chickens, a pig and several gardens and fruit trees on 13+ acres. No teens here, but son and DIL w/grand daughter and another on the way, living next door. Some one to help me do the things I am physically not able to do. They are like minded and also have their chickens and gardens. I work best on the seat of a tractor.

Welcome to BYC. Thank you for your service. You will find a lot of veterans here. My dh and I both retired from the Air Force. BYC is the best site for getting chicken educated. Course many of the answers to your questions will be "get more chickens". There are a lot of chicken addicts and enablers here.

About the teens, can't cull them. I have one myself, they eventually do come around (or leave). Good luck.
