I think I related to your saga since DH and I just finished our home too, although we certainly didn't face nearly as many of the issues that you did since we didn't have to clear our land. We did make a 400 mile round trip every other weekend for five years until the home was completed. We finally retired and moved in permanently in April of this year! Yes, living in the country can't be beat! Nothing beats sitting on your front porch with a cup of coffee and the loudest sound you hear are the birds singing or a hummingbird fluttering his wings as he drinks from the feeder. Ahhhhh, life is good!
