Hi and from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. Something is odd there. I don't even see any pin feathers or shaft feathers where new feathers would start to grow in. I hope you can find a solution here.

Thanks 4-H Chicken Mom! I was so happy to see down growing, but no pin feathers! And like I posted, my other hens are getting the same way. But would a bug infestation cause them to start losing feathers in the same place? For a while I thought it was because my roosters were mounting them too much, but even after putting saddles on them, they're still losing feathers. :'(

Since you're starting to see the same thing in your other birds I'm thinking parasites. The fluff that I think I see on your bird leads me to believe that Red Mites are a possibility since they only feed at night. That makes them difficult to detect.
