Well, I've lurked long enough! Been reading, and reading, and then read some more for a few months now. Came up with several questions I couldnt find answers to, so figured it was time to join the flock! I used to raise chickens for umm........ snake food, years ago. (I bred large pythons and boas for many years and chicks were a cheap food). In several of my orders of "Frying Pan Specials" in the past, I kept back my free "rare breed" chick and grew them up. I learned that chickens were much more than snake foder! Over the years I expanded to turkeys, ducks, pheasants and even an emu. Well, life happens, and I have now been birdless and snakeless, for a few years. I will be moving to a new home, with property, this Spring, and the chicken itch has struck me bad! Been designing chicken quarters and researching breeds daily. Yup, I'm hooked, again. Enough blabbering, time to go ask ?'s Don
