I just registered today but have been lurking here for a while. My name is Deb and I live in the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I'm married to a great guy and have four beautiful children. I don't have any chickens yet (and unfortunately our little town doesn't allow them within city limits) so I'm currently doing research about breeds, coops, ect. and will either just get a few birds and decide to break the law
...or I will try to get the city council to change the law.
Our town manager just happens to be our neighbor (a few houses away) so if I did decide to just get the birds without getting the law changed I'm a little worried that he could find out about it. Ugh, a bit of a sticky situation. Also, the neighbor that lives next to us seems like the kind of person who just might call the law on us if she knew we had chickens.
Anyway, I'm glad to be a member here and look forward to getting to know some of you and gleaning lots of information about raising chickens!
