Howdy! I’m new.

Hi! I’m new to chickens, but I’ve thought about getting a few ladies for a while now. I have no birds currently, and no idea about breeds. I’m excited to take a step toward self sufficiently. I love love love to be outside, camping, hiking and exploring. My husband and I have 3 sons (ages 11,15 and 19), 2 dogs, 2 inside cats, a bearded dragon and some fish. I’m a 5th grade teacher with a love/hate relationship with my job. Love being with kids, hate the ridiculousness of current conservative education bs and how that effects me and my family, and small humans everywhere. Umm… my brother and sister have birds, they live in Maine, and I live in Northern-ish Utah in a totally different climate. I’m not religious or republican (Not that there’s anything wrong with it, if you are) and I love swimming, running and making friends with small people.
