Hi all. been around chickens all my life but never really got into raising them on my own. So recently i bought 24 chicks from tractor supply. I got 6 Americana, 4 hybrid terta tarin something or other, 4 rhode Island red pullets and Rhode island reds straight run. the reds are straight run. As of right now we have 8 adult laying hens and 10 on the way from a neighbor. i intend on keeping my new flock separate from the current/ expanding one. So im on here for pointers and to share my experiences as i go through this! but my over all goal is to build a small to med barn (not coop) and end with a total of 100 laying hens and 20 hens for hatching my own chicks. i look forward to everyone's input and advice

It will be a very busy year lol. well with being in the army and doing this and having my first baby with my wife on the way my hands are very full! I have already found these little ladies to be stress relievers, I will try and post some pics of my little ones tomorrow. Thank you for the information on the tetra tints! Im waiting on tractor supply to get some more of them in as well as some ducks. I went tonight but they wont be getting any till Wednesday or Thursday they said.
