Hey everybody, old chicken man here.. new to chat rooms and typing on this tiny phone with fat fingers.. so bear with me.. I am in NE Texas been here my whole life (51 years) I used to keep 60-80 chickens, 50 Coturnix Quail, 10 Californian and New Zealand White rabbits, prior to a tornado in 2017 and I lost it all.. been slowly rebuilding and restocking the homestead and barnyard.. right now I have 27 layers, 19 red sex links, 5 black copper Marans, Blue Copper Maran and Blue Birchen Copper Maran and a few gold star/black star hens.. and I locked down 35 eggs in the incubator today so Friday I’ll have an all new, fresh laying roster for next fall.. thanks for havin me it’s a pleasure to be here. I still need to look around and learn how this all works.
Thanks again Flint

Don't be concerned about your lack of online acumen. I was older than you are when I joined this group and it's still my only online community. Folks here are very forgiving if you are technologically challenged (insert me, raising my hand, here) or, occasionally type faster than you think!

I can't imagine how devastating the tornado losses must have been. Iowa has always had a fair amount of tornados. A couple of years ago, we were introduced to a similarly vicious straight-line wind storm called a derecho. Nature will always have her way, won't she?

Best wishes with the new flock; sounds like you have some lovely birds. With all your experience, I'm sure you have plenty to contribute to this group. Welcome to BYC, Flint!
