I've lurked for a while, but finally joined. I'm glad there's a community like this online!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We've had chickens since 2016, so not brand new, but there's still lots I don't know!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Speckled Sussex, Silver-laced Wyandotte, Black Star, Buff Rock

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Entomology, reading, cooking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have 2 kids, rabbits, a parrot, and dogs in addition to the chickens.

I LOVE our speckled sussex! We only have 2, but if I get more at some point, will definitely get that breed again. They are very feisty, but incredibly friendly. They are the first ones out of the pen in the morning looking for worms, and they are very subservient to me. They squat in front of me like I'm a rooster, but I just pat them and tell them to move on. Haha.
