Howdy y'all.

Oh snap. Thank you for the warning. As of right now, they only go outside with my fiancé or me, because we're insanely over protective after losing our first two girls. Haha. But we're looking for a big house with an attatched run so they can play outside for more of the day, but they'll definitely still sleep inside with us, they just flip completly out if we're not in view of them at bedtime, used to have to sleep with my hand hanging off my bed over the side of their brooder lol. But now just constantly being in their line of sight is okay.
That's pretty funny. Well, the seals are decimating the salmon and that is a primary food for the bald eagles, at least up here in WA state. So this year the eagles are going after our chickens. Make sure your run is a covered one. And best of luck! Hope you find a nice place a little outside of Portland. But, then, your young. You might like all the craziness there. LOL

Oh lord no. I wish I was outside the city for sure. I lived outside the city limits back home in austin tx and man do I miss it. But my girls would not like that heat, they can hardly deal with the 90° days we had lately here. Haha. But I certainly wont make the mistake of having a run with no roof again. Losing my first girls just killed me. But thank you for the advice :) and hope all is well for you!
