Hi y'all! I'm new here...obviously haha!
I've had chickens for a while now with my husband, from game to layers to bantams. We currently have layers, bantams, and a few rare breeds. I'll be starting up a project this fall with making meat birds with what we own (hopefully) as I don't want to buy any more at this point.
I've also gotten myself involved with turkeys....lots of them. Call it beginners luck, I hatched out 18 this spring....

Anyhow I'm glad to be here and have a few questions to ask about making some meat birds for our family.
Thanks :)

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So glad you could join our community!

I don't know a thing about Turkeys other than the wild ones that come around begging for a hand out. LOL They sure are fun! Anyway, you will want to stop by our Turkey section for sharing stories, help and all around Turkey talk... https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/20/turkeys

Make yourself at home here and ask any questions you may have.

So pull up a roost bar and welcome to our roost! :)

Hi and

- glad that you have joined us. I have some dual purpose birds that i usually allow to lay for 6-8 months before going in the pot - its one way of allowing for the growing addition, without overrunning the garden with chickens
