Hi! Am a senior in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Getting excited! Expecting 18 babies in the mail tomorrow or the next day. Not sure why I ordered so many chicks, as there is just me, but had a hard time deciding on the breeds. Am wanting to raise them as pets. Will decide on how many to keep and hope to sell extras as they are "rare breeds." Have the brooding box all ready for them. Now working on the coop design, which is a 12x16 area which used to be a plant lath house. Oh, what to do, what to do?? Checking everywhere for ideas. Just wanted to say "hi" and will be watching the "goings on" here and learning.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
