I've been lurking and finally decided to join.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My first chicks are about 5 weeks old now. I've never had any chickens before.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I've got 6.

(3) What breeds do you have?
All are Barred Rock.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I was searching online for information about coops.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy canning and fermenting foods (kraut mostly), gardening, and reading.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

U can ferment feed if you're into it!! I like doing it occasionally...

Welcome to Backyard chickens. When your chicks are 6-8 weeks old, you can post individual photos of them at "what breed or gender is this?" The folks there would be happy to sort them out for you.
