I’ve been a member for about a month and been staying active but I never did an introduction, so here it is!
(1) Are you new to ducks / when did you first get ducks?
I’m new to incubation and hatching ducks! I incubated my first time about three years ago and just barely incubated my second batch this month. I’ve had ducks in the past but lost all of them to predators. If you see on any thread I start and I say i’m “new to hatching” that’s what it feels like because i forgot everything from last time!
(2) How many ducks do you have right now?
I have 9 ducklings that hatched on 4/13 and 4/19
(3) What breeds do you have?
I’m not 100% sure yet but I believe I have 1 welsh harlequin 2 cayuga 2 KC and 4 rouens
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising ducks?
I’m not sure yet, because my ducks a couple years back died really young
I guess i’ll find out!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I really enjoy fishing. I show livestock and also play baseball and football. Working out is also one of my favorite things to do!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 2 sisters, and 1 niece. I have 4 dogs. 1 bernadoodle, 1 english bulldog, a rotweiler and a mutt! I also have an inside cat, but a bunch of outdoor cats! I’m a student currently but hope to be a cardiac surgeon one day!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I honestly found BYC on accident about three years ago, when I incubated my first eggs. I finally joined because I had some questions and also wanted to help people as much as I can! (even though i’m not very experienced) I also loved the vibes I got from the community!!!!!
