Hi. I’m new to raising chickens and found this website after my chickens started laying double Yolks. Never knew these eggs existed until last week. I’ve got 7 double yolks already, 3 are Not cracked yet.

hello! Welcome to BYC. I'm not sure if double yolk eggs is a good thing for your chickens health... But I am no chicken expert. I am sure someone else on here can let you know what's going on.

Hiya and welcome to BYC!!! What kind of chickens do you have that are giving you double-yolkers?

If you so choose to hatch any eggs, I'd be sure to candle them first to remove any of those as the outcome is generally grim. But fun stuff, eh?

If these are young layers, double yolks are common, two follicles are released instead of one. As birds mature, their plumbing will work out the kinks and release one at a time. Enjoy the doubles while you have them!
