Hi everyone! I'm WannabeHomsteader (I know I misspelled it - it was late at night when I made it, and I can't change it. it's fine lol). I have been a longtime lurker for various chicken health issues, care recommendations, housing suggestions, etc. This community has already been a fantastic resource for me!! I currently have 2 ISA brown hens and 8 bantams (cockerels? pullets? who knows yet? I haven't figured out breeds yet either, they were a mix from TSC this spring). I jumped into chicken keeping with both feet about nine months ago. What a learning curve! Integrating suburban life with my love for country living has posed some unique challenges. I've had lots of hiccups with my flock in the last several months, but the chickens bring me a lot of joy, so it's worth it. I love gardening, DIY projects, composting, and learning to be a little more self-sufficient every day. Thanks for letting me join the chicken club!
