My name's Jim, I live in the suburbs of Albany, NY. My family and I are growing ever more concerned about the safety and nutritional value of the "Corporate Farming" food chain. So, I started to look into raising chickens, just a couple to start, mainly for eggs. I discussed it with my wife, and to my surprise she seems willing to go along with it(that is, she'll eat the eggs if I'll do the work!), so I've been reading everything I can get my hands on about raising chickens. There doesn't seem to be a local ordinance specifically banning chickens, but I was talking to some people at Tractor Supply who said to check with code enforcement also. Then I found this site. I'll keep ya posted as to whether I can get this chicken thing off the ground, (so to speak)
