We just bought 10 silver laced Wyandotte pullets and a Rhode island red rooster. My question is, will we get our red star chicks like we want?

I'm not certain what that mating will produce.

! Great to have you here! I love my Redstars! They are kind of confusing, however. Depending upon with whom you speak, a Red Star is a Red Sex-link is a Cinnamon Queen is a Golden Comet is a... Others vehemently say no, those are different crosses. I think generally the rooster is RIR or New Hampshire Red. The white hen, sometimes a Delaware, sometimes a RI White, might be where the difference, however subtle, shows up. Below is a link that might clarify or further confuse the subject.
