We each have an opinion on Crumb’s gender- so I’m bringing it to you guys— it is about 5 weeks & sold as straight run Bantam... He & I are in agreement over the others, but this one has us divided... it is a TINY thing, but super healthy ..

With most barred breeds if the bars are even with solid lights and darks then it’s a boy, if they colors are splotchy and darker than its a girl, and bantams combs get really big and red by 5 weeks if it’s a boy.

i had a gold seabright bantam, with a very large red comb when it was a few weeks old...and started to crow....i was very nervous to have a rooster as i thought my neighbors would complain so i rehomed him....im very sorry i did that, he was so cute...

:barnieI will be doing dishes for the next week— I was looking for elongated feathers and all HIS seem pretty rounded & uniform. I know hens can have combs, & that is what he was going by. So much for all my studying :lau.. He thanks you all... we are pretty sure all but our Americana pullet are Roos.. next spring we will be ordering bantam pullets —10 bantam chicks from farm store & one female. (Two now with Elvis)
