Gryeyes--congrats on the new house!

I have suffered from chicken math too. Started with 25, plus 4 BO plus 10 EE ( incase some die or are roosters) and 6 turkeys to arrive this week. DH has FIRMLY said no more chickens and no incubating eggs. But he didn't say I couldn't build an incubator!

We started out with 6 and only wanted 6. 2 years later...... lets just say over 20 under 30.

I started this year with one trip to TSC. Result: 5 Bantams ( one died) they all look like Silkies. 3 Golden Comet and 3 L(whatever) have been in that box too. My second trip to TSC should all be about dogfood.

I brought home 1 big bag o dogfood and..................a little tiny box with 7 orange peeps. They could be everything red, so it's a surprise box
Yesterday hubbi told me, that the guys @ work recommended the Hofman hatchery

and he is talking sbout fasans. So I think there will be a trip to Hofman, after we moved to the 4 acres. Please

your fingers for me, that it would be soon

I just went out and brought them home. That was after Hubby said no more chicks!!! I asked him to make the chicken run a little bigger, so we would have more room outside. Dh said if he did that, I would bring home even more chicks.

I promised him I was done.

He brought home the supplies today for me. Now my girls have a little more room. I was just at the recommended space, but I didn't think it was big enough. He truly is a great guy.

I have this disease also, but I dont want a cure!! lol. But at first my parents said sure, you can get 6 hens. We went to the feed store and got 6 cute little chicks. They were so cute, I went back the next day and got 4 more. Then we found out they had chickens that lay chocolate eggs! We went and got 2 more, which got us up to 12 Hens. Two have died over the course of a year, so A month ago we went and got 4 more chicks to replace the ones that had dies and add a few more. THEN, we went back to the feed store a week after getting the chicks and got two ducklings. SO we currently have 10 Hens, 4 Pullets/Cockreles, and 2 Mallard Ducklings

. When I move out I am going to have a barn be my coop, CHICKEN/DUCK OVERLOAD!!!

Wanted 6 got 8, then 16, up to 21.. My dear husband is Army every time he comes home we have more chickens , he gave up, smart man I married, he just sucks it up and adds on to the coop.
But he does grumble about the 200 dolla eggs he gets for breakfast and says they are ever so much yummier then powdered mess hall eggs...
