Don't know where you live shay but Mass only has two dangerous snakes, the Copperhead and the Timber Rattlesnake. Both popualtions are very limited in size and range. Both require very specific types of terrain to be prolific. That being said it doesn't mean other snakes are not a threat to chicks or eggs.

I am in Townsend, 10 min away from the nh border.
we have a lot of wet and woods in our back yard.

This one had the arrow head shape.

If it had an arrow shaped triangular head, then it is poisonous.

We called them checkadadas as kids never knew what their real name was.I don't recall them being venumous at all,but they do like to eat eggs. The saying is"if red touches yellow deadly fellow."
In N.H.,Tony.

When you see a copper head snake you will think what a pretty color almost like a new penny. that snake if the photo is showing true color is not a copper head.

Yes, copperheads are almost orange. I don't know if they have variations in their coloring but the one I saw today was quite brightly colored.

I vote milk snake.

Check the underside, there will be little marks going vertically down it until the lower part. If at it's anus it goes into a different pattern (interlocking V or horizontal) then it shouldn't be poisonous. If it has no change, then it is poisonous. This is only what I have heard though.
