Yup..we have copperheads here... (My back yard is rocky hilly woods and a swamp...)
I truly believe thats what killed my cocker spaniel..
If we see them..we kill them.
I tell my neighbors to kill them too... but he wont...he dosent mind them being around... (he sees them more then we do... they like his shed for some reason...)
My other next door neighbors had a snake removal guy come and take them from under their porch 2 times...now those neighbors have moved and the new neighbors have a 2 yr old baby... i warned them to be careful...
We only saw one last year though... hopefully we'll see NONE this year..
The other snakes dont bother me though.. gardners and milk snakes..
its just those dang copperheads..

YES, I SEE YOU ARE HATCHING GUINEAS, SO LET THEM FREE RANGE EVEN AT NIGHT FOR SNAKES FEED AT NIGHT! I KILL ANY SNAKE THAT IS TOO CLOSE TO THE HOUSE OR COOPS, BUT YOU COULD NEVER KILL ALL THE SNAKES, IF YOU TRIED! KEEP THINGS MOWED AND WEEDED AND MOVE PILES OF BRUSH, LOGS, ETC FROM AROUND YOUR COOPS....AND BE GLAD YOU DO NOT LIVE IN KANSAS WHERE MOST SNAKES 3 FEET LONG ARE RATTLE SNAKES! THAT IS WHAT I LOOK OUT FOR EACH DAY...LOL GOOD LUCK....THE ONLY KIND OF SNAKE I LIKE IS A DEAD ONE! .........................................................................:celebrateSORRY NOT SCREAMING, JUST DO NOT LIKE SNAKES:celebrate

You would be amaze at the pricing for corn and milk snakes. One of the volunteers at the rescue I am at makes quite a profit on her herps. Her bloods get between 350 an 400. They are beautiful, vibrant red. Plus they are docile, smaller than most constrictors, an handle captivity very well. Great first snake for kids. My 12 and 10 yr olds have one each, a blood and a caramel, I like them better than the balls, and since they stay under3/5 feet, easier to handle.
