Hubby picking on me for being "scared" of rooster

Put a rubber snake on his pillow, jenichick.

Then you can tease him when he freaks out.

As good as my boys are with me, I don't trust them too much. I've never been flogged, but DD has and it wasn't pretty. I have been attacked buy a goose though, when I wearing shorts, now those guys are mean!

A rubber snake would do the trick, I don't think he'd find it as funny as I would.... Geese are huge, owwwa, at least this is a buttercup, not nearly as big as some of the RIRs and the Wyandotte, I feel less threatened because he's not much bigger than the hen's and smaller than some.

Well, what do you want to use the flashlight for? You can get all the brightness and practically none of the weight with a smaller flashlight that you can put in your pocket or clip to your belt.

As far as getting a maglite LED on the cheap, I think you'll just have to look for sales at your local wal-mart, target, home depot, lowes, etc.

In case you don't know already, I'm a big flashlight fanatic (flashaholic). That's what all the stuff is in my avatar. If you really want to get a nice flashlight, mention how much you'd like to spend and I'll pick the best light in that price range!

Silkiechicken and I always use a flashlight if we are going into the chicken coop at night.

I have always been afraid of roosters - than at easter I got three of the cutest fuzzybutts from the feed store ( easter gift to myself that year ) anyway we lost one to a skunk and one turned out to a very very large roo - was alright when he was little but as soon as KFC started to crow he got mean and nasty always jumping on me and flogging the crap out of my legs - DH thought I was " making it up " until I asked him to go in the run one day and KFC was feeling very roosterish that day and flogged my DH good -- we rehomed KFC the next week LOL

But I got about 20 babies a few months after KFC was found out to be a roo- once we rehomed him I thought that was the end of my roo days - out of the 5 bantys I ended up with 4 roos

rehomed 3 kept 1 named him Clyde and have loved him ever since LOL

good luck with your roo/DH problem LOL

I understand how you feel. Before I had my cataracs fixed, I couldn't see anything in the dark. I had to have a flashlight to find my shoes under the bed. I would look into a drawer, and all I saw was dark. I quit driving before I killed someone. When I was looking for something, the kids would say "there it is right there". They treated me like I was some sort of idiot.

I suggest you keep a nice selection of sticks at the door to the chicken yard. If the rooster comes at you just start swinging away, and if you land a few good licks on that smart mouth husband of yours, so much the better.

Has your hubby been attacked yet???
I bet once he has been spurred he will swallow his words for sure.
Ive been spurred dozens of times and it feels like a blunt knitting needle has been jabbed hard into your ankle bone., for some reason they always get me on the bone and not on the soft tissue!!
Good luck with it.!!

I am sure you are on your guard and a little scared. But are you really afraid of a little chicken? lol! Us hubbys can't help messing with our wives.

Hi! I've been attacked several times. Each time I have a rooster, I hope that it doesn't turn mean. Just recently, my young Olive Egger rooster decided to come at me. I kicked him. Three times he came at me and finally I really gave him the boot. he flew about five feet.
I'm not afraid at all, but I just hate kicking them. That's really the bad part.

Tell your hubby that you're not afraid, but his rooster is going to get "the boot" if he doesn't behave! Maybe he'll quit teasing you.....(But I'm sure it's all in fun....)
