No, I maned Traci's table outside by the coop for her while she did her talk. I've heard her talk a couple of times, so it was OK. She's psyched to do it again next year and we can take pre-orders for chicks next time. I really want to do a coop tour too.Yes! That's a great idea!
Were you at the lecture?
I am a pinot and truffle (the chocolate variety) person myself, but will also horde good quality balsamic and EVOO. Actually, these days, I am all about anything locally produced, we have some great farms around here. I bet our kitchens are similarly stocked.(Besides peanut butter) a good bottle of cabernet, dark chocolate Milano cookies, olive oil, and the smell of basil. That is all~ (I think...)
A coop tour would be so much fun! I love stalking all the coops on BYC. People are so creative. No, I maned Traci's table outside by the coop for her while she did her talk. I was getting wonderful EVOO from a lady I know who was getting it from a friend of hers whose family makes it. Long story short, she aggravated me and well...the very sad part is I won't be getting it anymore. It was heavenly and I miss it but I'm stubborn. Do you get local EVOO? I can't seem to find a good one.I am a pinot and truffle (the chocolate variety) person myself, but will also horde good quality balsamic and EVOO. I doubt anyone around here can grow an olive, don't they need warm weather? I think that US made oil might be as local as we can get, unless we find a boutique dealer. I like California Olive ranch and it is pretty easy to find. Having lived in CA for a long time, I got pretty spoiled with both wine and olive oils, but the trade off to live here is better. I love the local orchards, dairy farms, festivals, etc...I was getting wonderful EVOO from a lady I know who was getting it from a friend of hers whose family makes it. The olive oil lady has family in Portugal. I'm not sure if she travels there to pick it up or has her family ship it to her. My friend gets it from her and sells it at local farmers markets. She charges $20 for a liter. It is the richest, most flavorful EVOO I've ever had. Ugh I miss it. Maybe I'll send one of my kids undercover to get it for me lolI doubt anyone around here can grow an olive, don't they need warm weather?
