Do hatcherys have a minimum on how many eggs you can order?

Whatcha getting?

I know I ordered originally from MPC and they had orders for chicks as little as 3....and orders for eggs I think 6.

So No pips yet....I have the day off thank goodness so I can catch up on some house work. I still need to rehome some boys if anyone knows anyone who wants little cockerels

Starting work again has been rough, but it should be rewarding. Son starts school tomorrow and I am a bit sad that I can't watch him go on the bus for the first day.

Anyways what is everyone up to....weather has changed, football is here. Any tips for what you guys do differently for the winter? My husband is finishing up the big shed coop this month and I am looking forward to putting the garden girls in there for the winter.

I'm not sure what we are gonna do for winter. I guess I will put a de icer in the nipple bucket, plexy glass the windows and put straw over my sand. Anything I am missing?

I am basically planning to give them a heated base for the waterer. The shed coop is much more protected and the garden coop too...I am actually debating how I will shift things at the end of the month. I also gave them oatmeal every morning last winter (they hadn't started laying) and I moved them into our real shed

not the coop shed lol

My husband gave them a space heater lol and a lamp we felt bad because the real shed had no windows.

Not sure WHAT to do Re: winterizing! I think the biggest issue for us will be preventing the waterers from freezing. DH says he'll probably wind up running electricity out to the coops. The alternative is an extension cord which isn't the safest option. The next problem is the run has to be enclosed on the new coop. Never enough time! Has anyone heard any predictions on what kind of winter we're going to have?

Pffffffffft Monday >:-( Too much week and not enough weekend! Kid Rock @ Bethel Woods was great. LOTS of drunk, passed-out people though. Even in my younger, wilder days I didn't party that hard. The hangover was never worth it!

Hope everyone's morning went smoother than mine did. My son had the 1st Day of School jitters this morning. Already spoke to his daycare twice about bus issues. I'm so giddy he's back to school I didn't panic OR even get a tiny bit aggravated!! Have a good day everybody :)
