Ugh I hope it's just a sprain!
Free hens! What kind? AS IF I need another mouth/beak to feed but it's soooo tempting! LOL

Lol it didnt say what kind..

On another note..we just got a letter in the mail from the people who own the property to the left of us...they want us to give them a right away to put a drainage pipe behind my house!!! This means in the spring I believe they will start building :( They want to put 23, $1million homes there...ill see nothing but houses now...what use to be an over grown apple orchard with tons of wild life including pheasants, will be million dollar homes for city folk..who will complain about my animals.
Im so freakin sad right now..I want to move but I dont have the money. They offered to give us more land (we only own 2 acres)and to put up a natural barrier or fence...but that dosnt justify the veiws they will be takings away from me..or the fact my dogs wont be able to walk around the yard freely anymore.. just so much will change ..and im not ready for that to happen..I dont want it to happen.
Ill have to post pics of the land around us to show you guys.

I feel so bad for you. I kind of understand because we had a piece of property next to me that was landlocked and if anybody bought it we would have to give them the right away. We had people coming to my house asking to see the property I would tell them that they would have to get a helicopter, if they wanted to look at the property. I live on a dirt road quarter-mile from the main road and when anybody drives in I'm out the door stopping them and ask them if I could help them. A long story short after a couple years of that, we just ended up buying that small piece of property so nobody would have the access to it. We have 41 acres of land now. That we bought from my husband Uncle for back taxes that he owed on it. We have a old farmhouse that nobody live in for 25 years. We gutted the farmhouse and now it's our home.
It wouldn't be so bad if they would offered you a lot of money for you house. I'm hoping everything will work out for you as it did for us.

Ugh! Sorry Lexi. Do you own the property? Can you refuse access for the drainage pipe? How much land are they proposing to give you? We were approached by the builder who purchased the property behind ours. He is supposedly building a logistics company back there because Stewart Airport is supposed to be expanding (no evidence of that so far and it has been many years!!). The builder wanted an easement to tap into the water/sewer lines which are on our property. He also wanted to build a road cutting through our property to avoid having to build an access road from the dead end at the top of our road. Anyway, he offered a really low figure for rightaway/easement but we refused. Years went by and we were approached again and again, we turned him down. Earlier this year they asked if we'd be willing to sell the house and the property which got our attention (we want to get out of the Newburgh school district and we're interested in buying a family-member's house in Plattekill). Anyway...we gave the builder's lawyer a price and he said he'd get back to us after the permits go through the town zoning board, etc.. So far we haven't heard from him. It has been months since we met with him. My point is that nothing is being built back there and this project has been in the works for at least 6-7 years, maybe more. So hopefully this McMansion development won't happen. The economy isn't great and I doubt many people can afford a $1 million dollar home these days. Hope this is the case. Crossing my fingers for ya!

the only way to protect your views and the land around where you live is to own it. unfortunately, who the heck can afford to do that? is any of the land swampy by any chance? there are wetlands everywhere and they are protected. if the project goes thru ask for 10 acres around your existing property.

how has everyone been? I have 2 roos that are going byebye, they are getting mean-those darn teenage chickens!!(worst part is, they were the 2 I wanted to keep- beautiful rir) that leaves me with 3 teenage white roos--their attitude will determine who gets to stay. one more has to go definitely.

everyone have a good weekend. the temperatures are gonna drop again.
