Does anybody know how to cook hard boiled egg using fresh eggs. I tryed it and had a hard time appeal them!

There is no special way that I know of! It seriously sucks trying to peal fresh hard boiled eggs! Have you tried sitting them in ice water right after they are done boiling? It seems to help but not much.

I read if you steam them, they peel easily. Baking soda in the water supposedly helps too.

I pour in about a half cup of white vinigar. It works like a charm. You know you have enough vinigar because the foam (and it WILL foam) will be the Color of your egg shells. Then do an ice bath.

Hows everyones weekend going?
I found 4 eggs in the coop this morrning, and I saw my SLW Rooster breeding one of his girls! It truly is spring

I hope it was a fun weekend! An uneventful one here.
We went to TSC yesterday. I thought about getting some chicks but talked myself out of it. I didn't feel like dragging the brooder box out or dealing with the mess and the dust or Murphy's certain overly-enthusiastic interest in them. The breeds didn't excite me either. I can't believe I resisted. Not sure if I should be proud or ashamed !

our girls are getting huge now, and are getting antsy, waiting for their coop to be completed.

I contracted with a local fella that came highly recommended from the Cornwall Co-op of which I am a vendor.

here is my dilemma! I only know about TSC in chester, and they have been SOLD OUT of the pine shaving bedding. Is there another source around here other than TSC for bedding??

I was also wondering if anyone swaps chicks? I got the 6 minimum... 2black giant, 2 new hampshires and 2 unknown pullets.. beautiful girls with brown/gold and black barred feathers. probably ameracaunas. I sure would like a wyandotte, barred rock or orpington, but don't want to buy 6 more??

I have gotten shavings from the natural pet center in Gardiner and their sister store heritage feed and supply in Bullville.

ALL TSC are waiting on shipment. It is crazy. At the height of chick days!
