How many days are they? Dark eggs are always a PITA to see anything!

We just candled too. It looks like something is floating around in a few of them. Some are definitely duds. It's a TOTAL PITA to see through the brown eggs!

Left work @ Noon and came home to do one of those huge black trash bag clean-outs in my son's room. 8 yr. old boys toys are creepy.

I think the floating thing is a sign of viability/development. Can you see veins or are the eggs too dark..?

We did not see veins, but my friend is lending me a real live candler tomorrow! So we will see.

Hows everyones hatching eggs coming along?
I found an egg in the Lavender Orp coop yesterday!!!!!!
I still have snow in the runs. It needs to melt so I can separate everyone into their breeding pens.
Im almost positive its never going to stop raining The BF is happy its raining (he's the gardener) but he's not the one who has to shovel wet hay and poo out of coops!

LS is right..if you see a small black/darkish spot floating around it is most likely a little chick forming!

6 out of 10 eggs have something going on. Do you have anything in the incubator? How are the babies?
Somebody from New Windsor had a Lavender Orpington breeding pair for sale on Craigslist. I replied but they haven't responded so I assume they're gone.
