I have 18 eggs in my incubator and I didn't see veins but I see how dark they are in is inside. They are 14 days along, 7 more days to go. 4 of them I can see through them so these are not good eggs. If you can see a dark mass then they are good.

THEY'RE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!! that was so awesome! I could see them moving around. I'm on a chicken high tonight. The only one that I have a clue what it is is the one I grabbed from our coop (welsummer red star mutt). All I know about the others are that two are green and one is brown.

Congratulations on tohe Lavender Orp egg!!!!
6 out of 10 eggs have something going on. Do you have anything in the incubator? How are the babies?
Somebody from New Windsor had a Lavender Orpington breeding pair for sale on Craigslist. I replied but they haven't responded so I assume they're gone.

I hope everything goes well with your 6 eggs! I dont have anything in the bator right now. :/iv been on a lazy kick lol. Once it stops raining ill go out and clean.I saw the Lav pair on craigslist aswell..I wrote with no answer but my guy in poughkeepsie has some extras he is willing to sell me so in the next couple of days ill have a new LO roo and hen. My Rooster I just got died last night...I had him in quarantine because I noticed he had mites...but I was to late in treating him. I (once again) didnt check him when I went to buy him. I just trust people wont be a**holes. Wish I caught it sooner. But thankfully my hens dont have them and I dusted everyone and everything just to make sure! Its just sad people will sell sick birds like that! Makes me furious.

It was the Lav Orp rooster! I got him from a lady in middletown, well we met in middletown...dont know where she lived.but from now on I wont be "meeting" anywhere! If I cant come and see the birds and where/how they are kept, I wont be buying from them! I dont have her emails anymore so I cant contact her. Were your chickens out free ranging? If so, dont give up yet! She might have a nest somewhere!!! If you dont see any feathers, my bet she has some eggs you dont know about! I spent the day cleaning out the duck pen and one other rabbit coop I havnt used in acouple years. I plan on making everything look alot nicer this year. I have a large 20x10 dog kennel split into two 10x10 pens for the ducks and the lavs, but it looks horrible. So hopefully we'll be getting rid of it and putting up a new run with some welded wire fencing.

I have a big plastic storage deck box-type thing in the run...was refilling the feeders yesterday and out popped a freakin' mouse. I'm pretty sure I had a heart attack. I'm a little jealous you got to do some cleaning yesterday! Post some pictures as you get everything set up? My son is on spring break the week of April 14th which means I have to take that week off (darn!). That will be coop cleaning week (and it will take a week !) Gotta get rid of the little beast first. Does anyone have a cat I can borrow.....? And yes, they were all free-ranging before the EE disappeared. She has so many different colors in her, it's possible she's blending in with the landscape and we're not seeing her. By the looks of the condition of the feathers on their backs Mr. Blue has been very "busy" with the EE's and Nuggets. She could very well be broody out there somewhere. I hope so.
