It's worth a try to move the egg in nesting box

She will be laying a second egg in about 36 hours if you move her now you might have a chance before the second egg is laid. Try and move as much of the original nest in tack as possible.

Once the second egg is laid I would say it would be too late. Tampering with a pigeons nest is a recipe for disaster at any time is my experience.

I never heard of a pigeon laying an egg on the spur of the moment without the partners sharing in building the nest.

Hope luck is with you E15.

thankk you so much Hokum coco. that what i was doing right now i moved the nest into a pigeon bowl with the newly layed egg from yesterday but she seems not to care about the egg. i know now or later she will have to lay and egg and she will most likely lay it in the nest with the egg in it. and also since my chickens are messing with my 3 1/2 old squab and moved the nest right close to where there old nest used to be but the parents know it their baby but they wont feed it. i put some food and hope it feeds the little guy even tho its a roller homer mix

oh and also should i move the egg in the nest so when she wants to lay her 2nd egg she whont think that nest is taken and the after sh has layed it put the other egg in the nest??

ok, i know the female wants to lay an egg but doesnt know where ill post if she does in the nest

Confine her with in small space were nest bowl is, maybe just attach coffee cups with feed water and grit if grain feed to milk crate so can't get out until day or so after you see hen brooding them. I've never tried it but may work.
