Got this awesome egg on Sunday!
Tipped the scales!
DOUBLE! Fused together, right down the middle.
Crazy looking! Wonder if that would have developed into Siamese twins or something?
Quote:haha. That's exactly what I was thinking. Did it taste good? I LOVE the huge eggs.
Always feel sorry for the hens who had to squeeeeeeeeze them out though...
At least it was longish rather than just wider!
Haven't tasted it yet, had to crack it open to see it.. We'll cook it tomorrow... The yolk is beautiful golden yellow, I'm sure it's delicious...
One question: Is the hen ok?
I get one a week from my New Hampshire Red. She lays it, skips a day then is back on track.
Cooooool! But.. can't you put it back together and throw it in an incubator? I wanna see if it would be a siamese twin chicken, too!!!
Quote:I also have NH Reds among others. I get a JUMBO egg every couple days. Absolutely tips the scale!! I'm not sure yet which hen is throwing them. I wish they'd give me more of them- I could get $5 /dozen for 'em!! I keep any mini's & the jumbo's. The rest go to the store. Presently out of 21 hens, I'm getting on average, 20 eggs daily.
