huge eggs

Got another huge egg today from the same cage. That must mean one of them is consistently laying double yolkers! Thats some nice eggs there! Will eventually try to hatch a few of them just for experiment.

Is it possible to get two chicks in one egg (twins)?

I have the larger BW and there eggs are small compared to the same size Jum/brn..Even though birds are same size..Them Jumbos lay Jumbos...cva34

Here are more huge eggs and comparison pictures. One of them is definitely consistently laying large (probably double yolkers) for sure!
First pic, the left most is a supermarket large AA chicken egg.
The second from the left is my Buff Orpington's eggs. Its only been laying for 3 weeks.
The next three are the large eggs from my quail, all 18 and 19g each. The three above them are 11g each, from my italian pair.
The rightmost 4 are 14g eggs from my other quails.

The 3 together weigh 56g! Thats the size of a large chicken egg.

Wow, great size comparison photo! I am hoping I get enough eggs from my bobwhites just so my family of four can have one little tiny egg in some soup! We are hoping to have some coturnix quail in the future, so we can have more eggs!

Coturnix can't live with Bobwhites according to others on these forums. The BWs are too aggressive and will scalp the coturnix. So you will have to keep it separated.

Ya, I asked that question on another post and a member told me to keep them separated. Thanks!

Found this in the coop tonight. This thing is almost as big as my bantam chicken eggs.

i know this is old but do not try to hatch double yolk eggs its pretty much torture to the chicks i had eggs hatching and one was a double yolk i didn't know it was a double yolk but the chick hatched and the other yolk was attached to the chick and the yolk was rotten and the chick was alive for a bit then died so i would not try doing it again and i didn't mean to i felt so bad for the little thing

Wasn't planning to hatch it. It is just the scariest large egg I've ever seen.
