Okay everyone here's the deal. I've never really posted on here except years ago when I was just young and didn't know much haha! I would just always search around and gather information here lately so hello everyone!

Now down to buisness. I'm going to start a incubator build today and thought I would share it along with everyone to start everything off.

I have my old show box I used years ago when I showed hogs well now it's going to be a incubator. It is 49 inches long x 39 inches wide and 30 inches deep! It will have auto turner with micro switches, limit switches, timer motor all the fancy stuff I hope anyways.

Here are some pictures of what I'm starting with.

If I make any progress tonight I will make updates along the way!

Sounds like a great project! I started with a small 48qt cooler build and already wish I had a larger incubator. I look forward to seeing how this comes along. :)

Well it wouldn't be that hard to make bigger or another cooler haha!

I've had a hovabator for years with a auto turner. Got out of chickens for about 3 years and now I'm back at it full swing! Might start up a small hatchery. My local Tractor Supply Stores might contract with me so I'm trying to prepare myself! I can't ever keep my chick orders filled now so it's time to Improve! Have a few more I will be building after this one!

I got a little but done last night, took the top and the foam. I got one of my trays fitteted they are 30x30 of course I ran out of wood ugh! I'm going to go on a wood run and start again!

Here's so far

Update!

So I've had some time to work on the incubator here's what progress I've made

After running around and trying to find the wood to finish my trays I finally got ahold
of some almost everywhere in town was out. I removed the top of the show box to mount my motor, heating element, ect.

After the trays were done I had a problem with keeping them level so cut some more 1x2 and screwed each tray to the 1x2 to prevent warping hopefully!

My turning motor is a garage door motor 1/2 horsepower not sure if I like it with the circuit board and everything so I might just remove all that and wire the motor by itself

wow. i give you a lot of credit building this huge incubator! I would not have the guts or knowledge how to do such a thing and if i did I would worry if something doesn't go right. oy.
i do hope it works out for the best . you must keep us updated.

Thank you! I'm working on it as we speak. Good thing about having a smartphone I can update as I go. I have removed one of the sides because I didn't like the way the turning motor was working so I'm going to try mounting it at the bottom and making it chain driven! Wish me luck! I will update in the morning after I go pick up some black copper maran babies !
