This 3 week old chick has a huge solid mass on its abdomen that seems to be growing bigger. It wasn’t born with it…When I feel it, it feels lumpy like tumors…but it’s a baby chick!! It has had the mass for over a week & the chick acts completely healthy running around eating & drinking with the other chicks. Has anyone had this happen before? I haven’t treated it since it acts normal but this mass is huge now. 😳

☝️ If the chick is acting completely normal, then don't worry about it.
I still want to know what it is & if anyone else has experience with this. It’s huge & hard to the touch, lumps like tumors or something. But tumors on a baby chick? So weird. The other reason I want to know is because if it’s something contagious then I won’t integrate with the rest of my flock & it’s already been exposed to it’s 11 other hatch mates. I doubt it is but curious to know why it has such a large internal mass growth.

It's very hard to tell anything from the pictures. Possibly a hernia, maybe around the umbilicus. If it's a tumor then there isn't much you can do. If you have access to an avian vet they might be able to tell you what's going on.
Thanks. It’s the size of a ping pong ball, approaching the size of a golf ball. Still acts fine though so we’ll see. None of the others have it.

Definitely not normal!
No, it's not normal, but it would still be hard to know what's going on.
Possibly a hernia, Omphalitis, tumor...?

If eating/drinking/active, then I'd monitor and see how it goes.
If you lose her, then having a necropsy would give you more info.

Yes I watch her every day & she acts fine so I’ll let it run it’s course for now & hope whatever it is resolves. They will be a month old tomorrow.
