I was at TSC the other day and they had a pen of "assorted bantams" they were mostly all silkies and a few sebright chicks, but the silkies were HUGE for bantams? I've never had pure silkies before, only cross breeds. Are silkie chicks normally larger than most bantams or is there such a thing as a standard silkie? These chicks were young, but awfully big for bantams. I'm just wondering why?

The only time I have seen large Silkie chicks compared to Bantam chicks was when the Silkies were a couple weeks older. Maybe these Silkies are older?

The silkie chick I found in the "white pullet" bin is almost twice the size of the bantam chicks but smaller than the white pullet chick. Sorta in between the two sizes. She is only like a day old, you can tell from wing feathers.
