Hugging a Chicken
One of my relatives gave me a bag of Hull less barley for my chickens and was wondering if its alright for them? If so, how much can I give them each day? Can I mix it with scratch and throw them a small handful every few days?

This page has some information on barley.

I like to feed barley (see my BYC page) but if you feed too much you might have sticky droppings. Additionally the chickens we had (I just have chicks right now and they are on starter) didn't really like the barley but ate it if it were mixed into the feed. They wouldn't eat it very well if dropped on the ground as a treat.

So, I'd say just mix a little in with the feed every day or so until you use it up. If it is not rolled (and is whole) I'd make sure they have access to grit or free range for their grit.
