Hello! I'm Allie, new girl in town. I'm new to chickens so I'll take any helpful information or ideas I can take when it comes to chickens.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I haven't had chickens yet but my hubby and I are in the planning stage and getting ready to get chickens.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I don't have any at the moment but im already doing chicken math in my head and trying to figure out how many to get.

(3) What breeds do you have?

None yet but I would love lavender orpington

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I love the idea of having backyard chicken for a few reasons. I'm hoping they'll provide us some fun friendship, eggs and pest control.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Sewing
Embroidery/Cross Stitch
Painting, mostly watercolor
Crocheting
Cooking
Gardening
Eating
And playing Animal Crossing

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I'm married to a pretty cool and funny guy who like to build things. We have two dogs who are spoiled rotten and loved. We live in Houston, TX.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

My sister told me about you guys ski I decided to join 😁

Hello, Allie, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
It's good that you are waiting on the chickens until after you get fully prepared. It's no fun when people jump into getting the chicks when they don't even have a properly sized and designed coop and run built and the next thing they know they have a house full of stinky dusty chicks they want OUT but no place to put them.
