Lost our favorite chicken to the bobcat in our hood... didn't even know we had one again after a collective effort and a ranger sent the last one packing. I wouldn't mind if it didn't eat our pets- there is PLENTY else to eat- it is livid with chipmunks and squirrels, don't even get me started on the birds that migrate through the mountains where I live. Theres raccoons, bears (with cubs), coyote, badgers, falcons& Owls, and depending on location in these mountains you can have wolves and/or mtn. lions too! I so didn't need a bob-cat. I think it was maybe just because it was an off night and my hubby left the coop open when he passed out in our son's room. I just hope it hadn't been stalking up to that point, otherwise I fear it will register as a reward for its diligence & will thus be inclined to continue preying on my girls. they're secured nightly in a coop with proper wire, it's been a month- is it a legitimate fear to think it might go through the hassle of digging into the space under my back orch (adjacent to the coop) so it can dig under or attempt to tear apart the coop with the added cover of my patio I have been using to negate access to the enclosure to begin with?
