Human imprinted chicken?

Thanks that helps. So now it's between keeping him in the house until spring or puting a heat lamp in the coop?
What do you think? I'm leaning towards keeping him in the house until spring.

Had a hen injured, inside for two weeks, when she was healed I just popped her back in the coop with the rest about this time of year a few years ago... Went from a 65F house to probably 30F nights in the same day.

Well over a year ago, I got my first chicken, not being prepare for chickens ie: had not converted my garden shed into a coop yet, I built a little enclosure about 2 feet by 3 feet long and about foot and half high, and the chicken lived in my workshop for the winter again last year. It was a chinese silkie, not knowing if it was a roo or hen at the time. In February last year I found out the the chicken was a roo!!
Silkie-boy started crowing at 5 a.m.
Just how sick is your little guy Jack, Are you willing to put up with his crowing when he starts??? Maybe get a heat lamp and get him back into the coop as soon as possible. Good luck!

He's all better now! Currently he's still living in the house. He's 6 months old, hasn't started crowing yet. I'm pretty sure he's a roo though, he's been showing rooish behavior!

He has become very spoiled so I'm leaning towards keeping him in the house until spring. I'm a softy

I'm just worried about transitioning him into being an outside chicken. He's going to be ticked

Is Jack the only Roo in the coop? If not you could have a problem putting him back in the springtime.

Yes, it looks like his three siblings are pullets. The rest of my flock are hens.
