River's eyes widened as a hard weight banged into her, knocking her legs from under her and causing her to face-plant into a mud puddle. Her head snapped up, mud coating almost her entire face, seeping through her clothes. She blinked several times, as though not believing that yet again, she had been pushed into the dirt. Her hands snapped out, pushing herself up, before bending over to clutch Trodaire's leash once more, and her food in her other hand.
As she stood up straight, her eyes fell on the other girl's face, sending her mind into a frenzy. "Oh, you." She muttered. "Sorry for bumping into you." She said, starting to push by Isabelle, intent on escaping from the coming socialization.

“My fault” Isabelle said coolly, her mind was screaming at her to say sorry, “I’m sorry I got stroppy this morning” she said softly

River paused, her body going utterly stiff as she stopped in her tracks, her back facing Isabelle. Don't say anything, River. Go home. Maybe Dad will watch Netflix with me. Don't say anything-- Her body whirled around, her face white as a sheet, her green eyes flashing with hidden tears. "Sorry? Stroppy? You kiddin' me? You blew up at me for no reason, I said 'Why don't you stay in contact with your old friends' so that you don't lose them! And you tell me that you'll never speak to me again? I get it! You're going through bad stuff, but so am I. So stay true to your word. I'd hate to annoy you more." She spat, her heart clenching with the feeling of pent up angry being released. Something caught the corner of her eyes, and her head turned slowly towards the road, where a car was slowing to a stop beside them, rolling it's passenger seat window down. Seriously?
"Hey honey! I've been looking for you, I'd rather you not standing outside in the storm-- Oh, is this a new friend of your's?" River's father's voice flickered out of the car with a soothing sound to it, much to River's dismay.
"Um... Ergh, I was just coming home."
"Well, come on. Get in. No need for you to catch a cold. Your friend can too, we can take you to your home or where ever if you need a ride."

“No it’s fine” Isabelle said to Rivers dad, she stared at River for a minute before she spun stalking off

River clenched her hands, stalking to her dad's car and opening the back, glancing at his new K-9 partner who lived with them, Beast, before setting her food inside and stepping back so Trodaire could leap in, but once again, the dog jerked away, his leash ripping from her hand.
She watched dumbly as he ran up to Isabelle, play bowing, and yipping gently. "Trodaire!" River called, racing after him.

River slowed to a stop, watching as Trodaire played with Isabelle, standing beside them awkwardly. "I'm sorry about him, I still can't seem to teach him how to heel. I'll take him and be out of your face."

Isabelle jumped startled, “oh” she looked kind of sad the Trodaire had to go, “Sure I’ll see you around”. She gave him a quick scratch behind his ear

River nodded, grabbing Trodaire's leash hastily. She turned her back on Isabelle, pausing as she glanced down at Trodaire, who was panting happily. "Hey, uh, you know, me and my dad could run you somewhere in Dad's car. We have enough room for me, Trodaire, Beast, and you. That is, if you want us to."
