Lucas flashed a grin, seeing their slight bickering as amusing. "That's my daughter, River. I believe that song is called Fight for Me by... Gawvi? Gawvi and Lecrae." He paused, sending them both a kind look. "I'm sure your daughter did amazing, Ms." He murmured politely, still holding the door open.
River pushed herself up off her bed, kneeling beside Trodaire and scratching behind his ear, much to his delight. "When are you fighting for me? I need you to fight for me, when I don't know what I believe. Why does everybody leave? Show me what it's like to dream. Hey, go, you're the best, yeah." She murmured on, trying her best to keep her voice matching the singer's. "I know why we fight, is just to know we try! I need you to fight for me." As the song ended, she slowly got up, pushing her door open, Trodaire pushing past her so hard he nearly knocked her over. Her eyes followed the large black dog, until she saw where her father stood at the door, two people in-front of him.
Nearly all of the color drained from her face. Please haven't heard me, please haven't heard me.
