Milo smiled. Lara was the closest thing he had to a friend. "Thanks, I think my house is on the way."

As Milo walked home with Lara the realization struck him and he stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. "Oh no, I'm dead. I am so dead," he said starting to pace. "The school will have called mother and she'll be furious!" said Milo panicking.

The bell rang and Misty raced out the school with the flood of kids. She took the bus.

Once it got to her stop she hopped off and ran up the gravel slope to her house. She was greeted by a bucket of water being dumped on her head then pelted with water ballons. Her brother had his friend over after school and their school got out an hour earlier than hers. Misty suspected that they had spent that hour planning this. “Will! What have you done! My homework is drenched now!” she shouted at her little brother who was wearing a cardboard suit of armor.

Misty grumpily stopped up to her room sopping wet leaving muddy footprints where she walked. Misty shut the door behind her and got new clothes then spotted Lemon. She scooped Lemon out of her crate and held the hen close to her chest closing her eyes.
