Humane dispatching tool

WOW - so easy even I could to that....now just to mentally get over it to the point so I could ACTUALLY do it and have my stomache ACCEPT it.....the bird still needs to "bleed" out though right?

yeah, it'd still have to bleed out. But at least this way the chicken isn't going through the stress of being in a cone or the thing nobody likes, the hopping around on the ground with no head and blood spurting everywhere.

It's the most "humane" way to kill them that I've seen thus far and I think I've heard of just about every method.

Wring their necks.
Chop off head.
Cut throat with bird in cone.
Electrocution.
Dull axe to break neck.
Wall mount dispatcher (break neck).
Suffocation.

I have seen that before; I read that it takes a fair amount of hand strength to be swift in the killing. Do you suppose that is correct?

I am glad to know of the 3rd eyelid proof of death; I did not know that.

Oh My God.

That video was nasty. So sterile and mechanical.

It does look effective.

I'd buy it.

The flapping around of a headless chicken doesn't bother me.

I imagine it would take some hand strength depending on the bird you're dealing with.

Is is availabe in the US. I will probably just stick with the handy dandy nife.

Debashan, my hens are pets, and Bobo will hopefully die of old age after a long, fruitful life. The Cornish Xs I'm raising have, thankfully, few redeeming personality qualities, which will make the dispatching a little easier for me.

Also, don't forget that you are in the MEAT BIRDS section, so please don't be too offended by the discussions here!
