It's HOT down here in Florida, so I covered the top & back side of the run with tarpaulin to shade my chickens from the afternoon sun.
BECAUSE I LOVE MY CHICKENS!!!! lol...

And here are a couple Youtube video's of our Humble Homestead.

Please excuse the audio. It was my first time using this video cam. I found out I was too close to the mic...

I hope you enjoy it. I know there isn't much to see, but my wife and I are just having a blast here!

I LOVE IT! We are building a new chicken coop and run in our yard out of pine pallets and other scrap.Hope ours turns out as good as yourins!

Excellent use of materials - your girls look very happy!

I like how you did your ventilation above the nest boxes. Great idea!

Oh you noticed! lol, I really felt I had too... It gets very hot down here. There is one on the opposite side as well. We are blessed with a bunch of old Oak trees here, but there is a 3 hour time in the afternoon the sun shines right on the run and about half the coop. Winter won't be too bad, maybe a few frosted mornings is all...

Great recycled coop! I think it looks awesome! I did the same thing, but bought paint and some 1x2's. Aside from that, everything else was recycled. Great job!
