Wrath's Marans

How big are your coops and roughly how many do you have per? I'm just curious, not going to lecture on space requirements, lol
Good question, but don't remember. I'll do math tomorrow.
Some I know..
There's 21 total in Kings coop, 16 in Poppys, 3 cockerels in a bachelor coop, 14 babies in a big separate brooder, 2 ducks in an outside coop, and 5 bantams in a 4x4 outside coop.
Kongs coop I'll have to look up numbers for birds (there's alot) and I'll measure all. Kongs coop is over max, but I think the amount of poopboards (5), 4 extra roosts, 8 nest boxes and 3 brooders under poopboards helps add that second level of space.

Kings, Kongs, Poppys, bachelor and babies big brooder are in a 24x24 pole barn...the reason I noted outside for the ducks and bantams.

Doro's (W/R that recently passed) oldest daughter, she's 19 weeks old yesterday. I have a male the same age, and 2 more much younger (m/f).

Well, seeing that I'm over max capacity on coops and birds and now have my 19th broody....I've decided there's nothing much more to do than set more eggs. 🥴

The 3rd and final daughter of King x Roady (BCM x BA, black/white band) is now sitting on 5 Lil Jessie eggs. I wanted to set more of Ravens but cracked all 8 and none were fertile. 1st one I cracked of Lil Jessie's was fertile.

Lil Jessie is Joannies Granddaughter and I only have 3 F4s (1m/2f) but there was a leg band mishap with P/G (her sister) so I'm not accurate on who's is who's, so this helps. P/G is currently sitting on Momma's eggs.

Angel's hatchday is today for her Poppy x Solo but no pips yet.
So we wait....

Also dealing with our 3rd Coopers Hawk (juvenile) attack yesterday over the last 4 days but thankfully no losses or injuries.... the 1st involved Black and her 3 Raven babies with Kong joining in to fight it off when I got to it. The second strike came just after as I'm trying to get birds in. Hawk had 1 of Coppers pullets trying to lift off but released it as I got there. This put me thinking it's only after the littles so let the bigs out only 2 days ago after a lockdown day..mistake.
Last one was 2 nights ago just before dusk, all I caught was this same Hawk standing, with Rebel running away from it as I got there. It's been a nightmare here to say the least, but thankful I have all the boys to help with warnings.

We've had a ton of juvenile hawks the past couple months. My neighbor had 6 broodys hatch a total of 53 chicks and just let's them wander all over the place (she doesn't feed her birds during the spring/summer) needless to say I think there are 4 left.
