Humdity too high and took an external pip egg out by accident

Nice to meet you Ms. Hannah! UK!! Depending on how the global goings-on shake out, we will definitely have a chance to meet one day! Was planning a trip there before C19! Very nice set up. Amazingly, and didn't occur to me until now, but I just got out my electron microscope with an LED probe and set it up by the incubator and what a lovely view! I will refresh my memory and snap a couple of pics. You are now an honorary G-Ma to a grand or more in the USA! Don't hold that against me as it is just now coming to light what a sh@t our leadership is/has been. Sad it takes a duck hatching for a break from that whole brain mosh pit mess. Ok, so, did you put 'grit' in too? Was so afraid I'd not have ultimate success that I avoided too much intel so I wouldn't be 10x heartbroken and now I'm finding I'm behind the eight ball a bit. Add in scattered thinking I didn't see coming and... What time is it there? It is nearly 5pm here...

Lol Christine. It's 10pm here.

I haven't put any grit in yet as it's not needed. They will digest the chick crumbs just fine. I won't be introducing any treats to them until they are at least 2 weeks old. And then I will add grit to aid digestion. I'm saying 2 weeks so they know what their main source of food is.

Although I have added in some small bird toys to entertain them. They are definitely keeping them amused.

One thing that was quite surprising for me was how fast they can go from running around and playing, to being flat on the floor sleeping. Literally within seconds!

Will post a pic or 20 soon as I am refreshing my memory re microscope. It's digital but been a minute since I used it. Got it to view crystals we dug in Arkansas last spring. So last question so I don't keep you up - with one having its beak poking in and out and another pipped is it ok to crack open and moisten the folded paper towel I have in to keep humidity close to 80 or no? If I don't have that wet it drops to 70% and holds and info here mostly said try to stay at 80% when they are zipping... or you can enlighten me as I am not in my right thinking right now lol

Eggbert's first baby pic. Ignore date. This is his beak coming out.... how long before he's all the way and when would I help if needed?
