I have had about 4 successful hatches in my newly acquired humidaire. This last hatch, I started with about 30 eggs and 17 made it to lockdown (they were mostly shipped eggs). Come hatching day, nothing happened. Nothing ever did. I opened one up and the chick was developed but had died. It did seem that the air sacs were unusually large and I was having trouble keeping the humidity up, which had never happened before. Meanwhile, I have a very high end thermometer in there and the temp was stable. Any ideas as to what might have gone wrong?

Your successful hatches - were they in the winter? I have noticed, humidity is rougher for me in spring/summer - as the heat outside starts stealing what little moisture is in our air. For lockdown, to increase my humidity, I use a larger container - with papertowels and hot water.

Sorry for the bummer hatch.
