Will a sever dip in humidity for a short period of time effect the hatch?? The air is so dry in the room with the incubator. I accidently let the water run out and found it at 2% the next morning. (Checked it at 8pm and it was 35%).

Thoughts??

Hope it doesn't mess anything up!

I have never seen it that low, either, but I do know it is dry and the heat is on.... my sinuses might agree! It might just be a fluke... hoping a short period of very low humidity will have no ill effects!

I really dont want to hyjackyour thread here, but my eggs are in lockdown, and I found the humidity % at 16, I put it up to 64% now, but im worried they are shrink wraped. They were like that for about 4 hours.

You guys should try dry incubation method. Waaaaaay less stress and very successful hatches. 2% humidity sounds like an incorrect reading and I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Unless your eggs have pipped, I don't think it's a concern....if they have pipped, just keep an eye on them...probably fine.

I see alot of ppl say there eggs are Shrink Wrapped, what does that mean???

Shrink wrapped means that when the egg is in lockdown and the chick is coming out the shell membrane dries out and while it dries it shrinks hence the name " shrink wrapped" The cause is often too low humidity and high temperature.
