So on my way home from work today. I passed my local Dollar general and seen this car and the driver was looking on the ground at something. As I passed it just look like a ball of red leaves. The car pulled out of the parking lot as I'm looking in my mirror and that when I see two legs. I thought OMG it a bird. Why did that bird not fly away. So me being me I quickly turn around and zoomed back. Closer I get I see it's poor little chicken. All hunched up wet and cold. Looking for help. I pulled in jumped out and grabbed the little thing.
Things I know, it's still peeping so it's young. It's skin and bone. Someone cut both it's wings down to nothing. I clip my chickens but not as short as this poor baby. I'll get better pictures on it tomorrow when it's daylight. I'm thinking boy because of the big comb. And I'm also thinking maybe it's a broiler. It's so starved it's hard to tell.

of your average chicken. But I am not familiar with broiler/meat birds. I live around a lot of Amish. They transport poultry all the time. It could have very well fell off the wagon. I also live near a few poultry barns but I've only ever seen white birds never brown ones come out of those buildings. If I had to guess age it would be around 8-10 weeks old. It's so malnourished it hard to tell. Only because it still peeps tell me it's a baby still.
