Thankyou so very much for taking the time to write to me! Today is day 24 and I candled them and everything seems to look good except for one egg. One egg doesn’t seem like it developed properly but I smelled it and it doesn’t smell bad at all so I don’t know if I should leave it in the incubator or discard if it? I’m going to remove the egg turner tonight and will up the humidity to between 60-70% and watch for pips. So far there’s no pips but we’ll see after I have them on lockdown. I’ll send you a photo of the egg that doesn’t seem like it developed properly...How you doing?!!
I just threw it out, awww I’m so sad that it died. Why do you think that is? I feel so guilty! I feel like it could have been because of me! I’m going to try my very best to make sure the others do hatch! It quit on you. Thats ok. Yes take it out. If you don’t and it explodes I can say you won’t do it again lol. You are doing great! Wahoo!
Okay I won’t candle any more at all, I’m taking out the egg turner tonight and then will no longer be opening up the incubator at all. Hopefully this gives them a chance to just rest and prepare for hatching! Thanks for all your help!I usually don’t see internal pips until 26-28. I had Sweds. Ducks take between 26-28 days. I lock down on day 26. I would do no more candling. I do mine around day 10 for ducks and day 26. Time to keep them slow. On day 26, I only candle in the correct upward position.. pointy end down and thats it. Ducks love to quit late. Need rest. Lol
